RIVERFRONT PARK | BILLINGS, MT

Riverfront Park
Billings, MT

Website: https://www.billingsparks.org/park/riverfront/
Know Before You Go: Pack your bug spray - mosquitoes love this area as much as the locals.
Length: Around 1.5 miles.
Time: 30 minutes.
Difficulty level:  Easy to moderate.
Terrain: Grass, dirt and mulch.
Dog-friendly: Yes.
Kid-friendly: Yes.

We stayed in Billings overnight on our way to northwestern Montana and were looking for a pretty place to walk our dog. This definitely fit the bill! This city park is located on the southwest side of Billings and features a small lake called Lake Josephine.

A short bike trail runs around the lake and through a wooded area next to the lake. We stopped at this park just before sunset on a still night in late June, so mosquitoes were very thick. I’d suggest bug spray or covering yourself from head to toe if you go during a similar time.

Native wildflowers and plants grace the small, picturesque lake, which is frequented by geese, deer, and other wildlife.
