Trail: Conic Hill | Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park | Scotland
Website: https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/lochlomond/conic-hill.shtml

Know Before You Go: Take the time to look back during your ascent because the views are spectacular and you never know whether fog will obscure your view on the way down. Take cash to pay the parking meter in case the credit card machine is broken. The gift shop across the street will break your bills if you buy something. There are pay restrooms in the visitor center.
Length: 2.5 - 3 miles depending on spurs.
Time: 2 - 3 hours.
Difficulty: Moderate.
Terrain: Rocky, dirt/grass.
Dog-Friendly: Yes
Kid-Friendly: Yes

This hike up Conic Hill is steep but short, and gives you gorgeous views of Loch Lomond. The path leaves the parking lot to take you through a beautiful forest, then heads up a large number of steep stone steps. Be sure to stop at the overlooks along the way as you never know when the fog will completely hide any views. We took the time to look back during our ascent and were so glad because the fog came on just as we neared the summit! This trail is rocky in some places and can be slick, so wear good hiking shoes or boots.
