COLTON POINT RIM TRAIL | COLTON POINT STATE PARK, PA

Pine Creek Rail Multi-Use Trail

Colton Point Rim Trail | Colton Point State Park, PA

Website:
https://www.dcnr.pa.gov/StateParks/FindAPark/ColtonPointStatePark/Pages/Hiking.aspx

Know Before You Go: This trail is not terribly well-marked and can be confusing. We wound around through several spurs on our loop around the park.
Length: 1 mile
Time: 30 minutes
Difficulty: Easy
Terrain: Aggregate and Dirt
Dog-Friendly: Yes.
Kid-Friendly: Yes.

The Colton Point Rim Trail gives you a lot of bang for your buck, winding through Colton Point State Park to several overlooks that treat you to a spectacular view of the Pine Creek Gorge known as Pennsylvania’s Grand Canyon. The trail is relatively flat with many stops at overlooks. It's easily accessible from multiple parking lots.

This trail is framed in many parts by mountain laurel and definitely worth the stop.

Its sister park, Leonard Harrison State Park, was closed when we were here in 2023 so this was the only way we could get a bird’s eye view of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. We were glad we made the extra effort!
